Wind farms are popping up all over the world. These farms consist of several wind turbines in one central location. They all work together to convert the power of wind into electricity. One large wind turbine can harness the power of wind and turn it into enough electricity to power around 600 homes. Multiply that by a few thousand and you will really start to understand the true power of the blowing wind.

Wind farms can be very small and some larger wind farms can cover several hundred square miles of land. That sounds like a lot of land dedicated to just wind turbines but the land can also be used for agricultural uses. Now that is smart! Some wind farms don’t even occupy land, they are in the ocean!
