Greg Bafalis
President & CEO: Green Earth Fuels
Mr. Bafalis is the founder and CEO of Green Earth Fuels, LLC, which is a vertically integrated producer of Biodiesel in the United States. Green Earth’s first facility is located in Houston, Texas and can produce 90 million gallons per year of biodiesel. He has over 23 years of experience in project development in the energy sector, initially with companies specializing in waste-to-energy technologies and later in large scale power, pipeline and LNG projects. Until October of 2004 he was with El Paso Corporation, where he last held the position of Senior Managing Director – Americas and Europe Region having overall responsibility for 14 power plants and two pipelines in eleven countries. Mr. Bafalis also lived in Brazil for 7 years building and Managing El Paso’s South American business and before that role, served as Vice-President of Business Development, European Region. Prior to joining El Paso, Mr. Bafalis worked for Mission Energy serving as the Executive Director for Brooklyn Navy Yard Cogen, successfully developing a 380 MW gas fired power generation facility in New York City. Before working for Mission Energy, he spent eight years developing waste-to-energy and waste wood fired power projects for Waste Management Co.
